  17. Username/password as for incoming, security TLS/SSL port 25
  18. Back > Back > User settings
  19. Enter your Name as you want to display
  20. Back > Retrieval Settings
  21. Set a limit if you wish
  22. Set auto retrieve if you wish

Personal server (debian etch):

This is talking to a courier imap with ssl (OpenSSL) and exim4 (GnuTLS)

The settings are all the same as above (replace user, pass and host etc as needed).

For secure IMAP or POP3 - just choose SSL/TLS. Self-generated certificate gives a warning on the phone but you can choose to continue.

NOTE: At present the n95 refuses to talk SSMTP to the exim4 server. Doesn't matter if I use StartTLS, SSL/TLS and whatever port. It just gives a long long wait at Connecting to mailbox 'mailbox name' followed by a General - Operation timed out error message.

I wonder if this is like the SonyEricsson p990i that could talk OpenSSL but not GnuTLS. But nothing is logged on the server at all :(

n95 .mac

Hi Chris,

I know this isn't really a forum or anything, but I was wondering if you might be able to help, as your's seems to be the best description of .mac accounts on n95's.

Basically I followed your instructions to the letter, and have no problem receiving emails, however I get an "Internet server not found" error when I try to send emails.

I have tried this using all my access points including WLAN ones.

Any help would be much appriciated

Odd

Interesting. Although this was working when I wrote the post it seems not to be doing so now when using EDGE or 3G.

However - over a wifi access point - no problems.

Only thing I know that I have changed in between then and now was an upgrade from firmware 11 to firmware 12.

I will have to look more into this to check.

I'd also appreciate knowing if it works for you over wifi (if you can test that).

Update

I have just found out that my mobile provider is having problems with its data portal - and the entire data side of things is down. So - I will need to wait for it to come back to see if this is what is causing the issue for me
