Lunar Photography

A first attempt at some lunar photography.

Would love to have got closer - but at 400mm (plus the 1.5 multiplier as this is a digital SLR - giving 600mm) this is about as close as I can get.

Not 100% convinced on the focus - still working on that.

But - I feel - not a bad first attempt.

Update:

After a failed second attempt (bad weather) - here's the moon now at 3/4 full (waxing). You can see much more of the surface - but the crater relief is somewhat lost. The moon is much brighter now - and maybe less shadow due to the angle of the light hitting it.
