Two different sources have stated that NetCom would launch tethering support as of yesterday (to coincide with the iPhone 3GS launch). I can't see anything on the NetCom site itself though.

I can only say that there is no sign of it yet on my handset (but then mine took three days longer than expected to receive the visual voice mail update - no idea why) - so keeping fingers crossed that its on its way.

Update (01-08-2009): iPhone 3.0 firmware release and tethering for NetCom - official support

I have to say I'm disappointed in NetCom today.

Apple have just released the iPhone 3.0 firmware. This includes both MMS and tethering.

Now - I have very little use for MMS - haven't used it much on previous phones. But tethering is a useful tool when you're stuck away from any wifi and need a brief connection.

Telenor have turned this functionality on by default - but NetCom did not appear to have done so.
